After seven years of building The Selma and Lawrence Ruben Base BKLYN community, the Leeners have stepped down from their roles leading this community. Having a new full-time, financially sustainable Base in New York City is a priority for Base and for Moishe House. Each location costs $210k per year to operate, and we have already raised 60% of the funds needed to secure a three-year term for a new rabbinic couple. Once we are able to raise the balance of the funds from local NYC donors, we will be excited to post the job descriptions for a new, full-time rabbinic couple.
If you'd like to be involved in the next chapter of Base in NYC, click here to let us know how you'd like to help, and we look forward to being in touch with you!
In the meantime, Dimitry and Erica of Based in Harlem would love to meet you if you don't already know each other, so feel free to being in touch with them to learn about their beautiful community.
